Contact Us

APKHerd is a documentation and testing project, not a support desk for the apps we write about — we cannot reset your accounts, recover a lost backup password, or fix a bug inside LocalSend, Island or any other developer’s software. What we can do is correct a guide that is wrong, investigate a transfer or storage problem that our articles describe incorrectly, and add test cases readers have hit that we have not.

Email

Write to us at contact@apkherd.com. Email is read by the same people who run the tests, in the order received. Straightforward corrections usually land within a few days; questions that need a device pulled off the shelf and a scenario rebuilt take longer, and we would rather take longer than guess.

What to Include in a Support Request

File transfer and storage faults are diagnosis problems. “It doesn’t work” cannot be investigated; the details below usually can. Include as many of these as you can:

  • Devices involved — phone model and the receiving device (PC, Mac, another phone), for both ends of the transfer.
  • Android versions — the exact version and, if you know it, the security patch level, from Settings → About phone.
  • App and version — the name of the app and its version number from its own Settings or About screen, not the store listing.
  • The exact error text — copy the message word for word, or describe precisely what happens instead (spinner forever, device never appears, transfer stops at a percentage).
  • Steps you have already tried — restarts, cache clears, network changes, reinstalls. This stops us sending you a checklist you have already worked through.
  • File details, for transfer problems — roughly how many files, their total size, and whether the failure happens with one large file, many small ones, or both.

Do not send passwords, two-factor codes, backup encryption keys or screenshots showing private file names you would not want quoted. If a screenshot is the clearest way to show an error, crop it to the error itself.

Send a Message

Messages sent through the form and emails to contact@apkherd.com go to the same inbox. Personal data you send us is used only to answer you, as described in our privacy policy. Developers and PR representatives: the editorial standards on our about page apply to coverage requests, and review units or licences do not change scores.
