Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 17, 2026. This policy describes what information APKHerd (apkherd.com) collects when you visit the site, why it is collected, and the choices you have. APKHerd is a content publication. We do not operate user accounts, we do not sell software, and we never ask for passwords, payment details or access to your devices.

Information We Collect

Information you send us

If you use the contact form or email us at contact@apkherd.com, we receive your name (if you provide it), your email address, and the content of your message, including any technical details about your devices that you include. We use this information solely to reply to you and, where a message reveals an error in our content, to correct that content. Support correspondence is deleted once the matter is closed and any resulting correction is published, and in all cases within 24 months.

Log files

Like nearly every website, our hosting servers record standard log data: your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you requested, referring and exit pages, and the date and time of each request. Logs are used to keep the site secure, diagnose errors and understand aggregate traffic patterns. They are not used to build profiles of individual visitors, and they are retained for a limited period before rotation.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics tooling to count visits and see which guides are read, in aggregate. Analytics data tells us things like “the Quick Share troubleshooting guide was read 3,000 times this month” — it is not used to identify you personally, and we do not combine it with advertising identifiers for our own purposes.

Cookies and Advertising

APKHerd displays advertising served by Google AdSense. This is the section that matters most, so it is written plainly:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website and other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
  • Where required by law, advertising and analytics cookies that are not strictly necessary are loaded only after you have given consent through the cookie notice shown on the site, and you can withdraw that consent at any time through the same notice.

Beyond advertising, the site uses only the cookies WordPress and your browser need for basic function, such as remembering a cookie-consent choice. We do not operate our own cross-site tracking.

Your Rights Under GDPR and CCPA

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you (in practice, your emails to us), to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our lawful basis for processing contact emails is our legitimate interest in responding to correspondence.

If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request its deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months. Requests under either regime can be sent to contact@apkherd.com and will be answered within the timeframe the applicable law requires.

Data Sharing

We do not rent, sell or trade personal information. Data is processed by the service providers required to run the site — our hosting provider, the analytics provider described above, and Google as the advertising provider — each under its own published privacy terms. We may disclose information if required by a valid legal order, and we will say so in a transparency note where the law allows.

Children’s Privacy

APKHerd publishes technical documentation aimed at adults managing their own devices. The site is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data Security and Retention

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to the mailbox and publishing systems is limited to the site’s editors and protected by strong authentication. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise; we collect very little personal data precisely so that there is very little to protect.

Cookies on This Site in Detail

For the avoidance of doubt: the cookies set by APKHerd itself are limited to functional preferences such as your cookie-consent choice. Advertising cookies are set by Google and its partners as described above, only in accordance with the consent rules for your region. We do not operate social-media tracking pixels, fingerprinting scripts or data-broker integrations, and we do not embed content from third parties that sets marketing cookies outside the advertising system disclosed here.

International Transfers and “Do Not Track”

Our hosting and advertising providers may process log and advertising data on servers outside your country, including in the United States, under their own published safeguards. Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not standardised across the industry; rather than respond to the signal inconsistently, we have minimised what we collect in the first place, which protects visitors regardless of browser settings.

Changes to This Policy

When this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and significant changes will be flagged in a note at the top of the page for at least 30 days. Continuing to use the site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
