Who We Are — and Who We Are Not
APKHerd.com is an independent technology review and file-management troubleshooting resource. All software names, trademarks, and logos belong to their respective developers. APKHerd does not host or distribute modified, cracked, or pirated APK/EXE files. All official download links redirect to official developer platforms and app stores.
APKHerd has no affiliation with, and is not endorsed by, the developers of LocalSend, Quick Share, Island, Shelter, SD Maid, SeedVault or any other product covered on this site. We test publicly available software and publish what we find, including findings a developer might prefer we had not published.
Accuracy and Limits of Our Content
Test results on this site describe the software versions, devices and network conditions named in each article, at the time of testing. Transfer speeds, storage figures and feature availability change with updates, and a result measured on our device matrix is evidence — not a promise of identical behaviour on your hardware. Before acting on storage-cleaning, app-cloning or backup instructions, confirm the steps against the current version of the tool you are using, and keep a backup of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Some topics in our coverage carry risk when applied carelessly. Cloning a banking or payment app can violate that service’s terms and weaken its security model; deleting cache and residual data is irreversible; a backup that was never test-restored is a hope, not a backup. Our guides flag these risks where they apply, but the decision, and its consequences, rest with the reader.
Advertising and Commercial Honesty
APKHerd is funded by display advertising, currently served through Google AdSense. Advertising is labelled as advertising wherever the network’s format allows it, ads never influence test outcomes, and no developer can pay to improve a result, remove a criticism or secure coverage. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be identified as sponsored in the article itself. As of this page’s last update we use no affiliate download links: where an article points you to software, the destination is the developer’s official platform, chosen because it is the safest source, not because it pays us.
DMCA and Copyright Takedown Procedure
We respect the intellectual property rights of others and respond to valid notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512) and equivalent laws. APKHerd hosts no user-uploaded files and no software downloads; our content consists of original text, measurements and diagrams. Mistakes are still possible, and rights holders who believe material on this site infringes their copyright can send a notice to contact@apkherd.com containing:
- Your full legal name, organisation (if any), postal address and email address.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- The exact URL on apkherd.com of the material you claim is infringing, specific enough for us to locate it.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Valid notices are reviewed promptly and infringing material, if confirmed, is removed or corrected. Incomplete notices — particularly those without a specific URL — will be returned with a request for the missing details, since we cannot act on material we cannot locate. Filing a notice for material you do not own the rights to, or that is plainly used under fair use for review and commentary, wastes your time and ours; knowingly false claims may carry liability under §512(f).
If you believe your material was removed in error, you may send a counter-notice containing your contact details, the URL of the removed material, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake or misidentification. Trademark concerns that are not copyright claims can be sent to the same address and will be reviewed on their merits.
